Buckden is centrally situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, 18 miles north of the busy market town of Skipton, amidst some of the finest unspoilt countryside in England. Set beside the River Wharfe, the surrounding limestone fells rising to over 2,000 ft, the village has a calm and spacious natural beauty.

The village of Buckden has its own Community web site, carrying a wealth of information that is regularly updated.  You are encouraged to visit it at: www.buckden.org

For scramblers, ramblers and amblers Buckden offers a wide variety of walks – from the challenge of the Dales Way, Buckden Pike or the high fells to riverside strolls through gentle meadows where one might catch a glimpse of a kingfisher or simply observe the abundant animal, plant and bird life. Discover local locations used in the James Heriot series or, more recently, the "Calendar Girls," filmed extensively in our area.
