From a wealth of opportunities in our area we present here just a sample for you to consider, starting with the village of Buckden which has its own Community web site, carrying a wide variety of information that is regularly updated and we encourage you to visit it at: www.buckden.org

For a major source of tourism information, visit the 'Yorkshire Dales National Park' online at: www.yorkshiredales.org.uk .  Their comprehensive calendar of the 'Check for Events' section is particularly useful.

Other local activities are both varied and plentiful:

Sailing / Horse Riding /Horse Racing / Climbing / Pot Holing / Hot Air Ballooning / Canal Boating / Bird Watching (esp. at the Malham Tarn Field Centre) / Mountain Biking / Riverside Walking – the Dales Way runs through Buckden / Fell Walking – Buckden Pike rises from the village to over 2300Ft and the Three Peaks (Whernside, Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough) form a real challenge.

There are truly excellent golf courses, set in wonderful scenery.

The River Wharfe is renowned for trout fishing. Local reaches are owned by Bradford City Angling Association, for whom we are the ticket holders. The nearest fishing reaches are a very short walk from Dalegarth.
