National Park Event - Red Squirrel Conservation in the National Park
Dales
Countryside Museum, Hawes 12:30 to 13:30
A chance to find out how the native red squirrel is faring in the
Yorkshire Dales. The talk covers changes in habitat,
competition from greys and future conservation. Free with
museum entry ticket.

23rd July National Park Event - Lead Mining in Swaledale.
Accessible Walk.
Meet at Surrender Bridge (Grid SE 989 999) 14:00 to 16:30
A
2 mile (3.5 km) guided walk with an archaeologist to look at Old
Gang and Surrender Smelt Mills. Follows surfaced tracks with
gradients reaching 1:10. Parking is informal, either on the
roadside at the start of the track or at the junction of the road to
Healaugh. Please park with consideration to others. Dogs
on leads allowed. Adults £3, parents/carers free.
