We hope you all enjoyed the Festive Season and wish everyone a happy and healthy 2017.
Here in Buckden, for our family the real Christmas begins at 4pm with the Crib & Christingle Service at Hubberholme Church on Christmas Eve, attended by over 100 adults and children for the blessing of the crib. This is followed by the Carol Singers touring the village during the evening and topped off with a candlelit Midnight Service, where the church looks magical.
New Year's Day is full of tradition, starting at 11am with a Village Walk around the Deer Park on Redmire Farm, followed by soup, stollen and mulled wine for all. This year the weather was just perfect for walking off a host of mince pies, with sunshine and blue skies - a sort of May day, albeit with the temperature dialled down. The tops of the hills were snow-capped and turned pink both at sunrise and sunset.
All in all a very busy day, ending with our Carol Service at Hubberholme, supported by Buckden Singers, when once more the church was candlelit - packed!
